Our team is looking for a strongly motivated candidate for the position of Project Associate. Position: Project Associate Location: Photonic and Nanoelectronic Integrated Circuits and Systems Lab (PhNEICS Lab), Department of Electronic Systems Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru- 560012 Job Description: The candidate would be primarily working in three domains- i) Physical systems (Thermal, Mechanical, Magnetic) ii) Electronic Board Design iii) Electronic Measurements I) Physical Systems: Design, 3D modelling and simulations ofa) Thermal subsystems that include Embedded microheaters in multi-layered PCBs, insulation mechanisms for temperature sensitive components (accuracy up to ±1 mK).Â
b) Magnetic components such as solenoidal coil and zero Gauss chamber for centimeter-scale systems. c) Free-space optical setup that includes components such as lenses, mirrors, linear polarizers, circular polarizers, etc. d) 3-D printed mechanical structures.
II) Electronic Board Design: The candidate is expected to diligently work with circuit designers and get involved in Analog/ RF Board design using suitable PCB design tool. III) Electronic Measurements: This domain involves testing of circuit boards, characterization of various subsystems using sophisticated electronic equipment such as signal source analyzer, mixed signal oscilloscope, optical spectrum analyser, etc. The candidate will also be working on automation of the measurement process of High-speed circuits. Eligibility: Bachelor’s/Master’s in Electrical and Electronics/ Electronics and Communication/ Electronics and Instrumentation/ Mechanical/ Any other relevant field of engineering. Skills required:
I) Experience in using Multiphysics tools such as COMSOL Multiphysics for design and simulation of physical systems.
II) PCB Design of Analog/RF sub-systems using tools such as Altium. III) CAD tools for 3D-printing such as Fusion360, SolidWorks, etc. IV) Knowledge of analog and digital electronic circuits. V) Knowledge of C/C++/Python.NOTE: While all the above-mentioned skills are very important for the execution of the project, candidates possessing most of these skills but missing out on one or two of them are still encouraged to apply given that they have strong motivation and zeal to earn those skills in the due course of the project duration.https://labs.dese.iisc.ac.in/phneicslab/ Interested candidates can send their CVs to aruppolley@iisc.ac.in  For further queries, please contact- aruppolley@iisc.ac.in
